| Queen Arabesque Pleco Information |
|
|
Queen Arabesque Plecos originally came from the Rio Tapajós in Brazil. They eat a wide variety of
vegetable matter and live and frozen foods
including bloodworms and brine shrimp. They prefer a fine sand
substrate. Queens are nocturnal, so they will
look for a cave to hide out in most of the day.
The males will have a higher
contrast of coloring than the females. Females are shorter and
broader. Queen Arabesques are egg layers, but they are difficult to breed,
so they are caught in the wild in South America.
